Baby photographer in London and Surrey - photography tips for 1-3 month olds

Babies between 1 and 3 months are my least favourite age to photograph - although at this age they are very sweet, they have lost the curliness of newborns, but can't sit up or lie on their belly. It means that I have to get creative to take 30 different photos, especially if the family don't want to be in any pictures. This is where props come in. Toys, blankets, hats, name blocks or even Dad's favourite football kit! Here are some photos of 10-week old Valentina from a baby photography session in Wimbledon, South London illustrating this:

As with all baby and child photography:

- have a plain and uncluttered background such as a blanket
- set a wide aperture e.g. F4 or set camera to portrait mode (for blurry backgrounds)
- put your camera in continuous shooting mode to capture every moment
- have someone stand behind you to get your baby's attention
