Outdoor lifestyle family photography sessions in London

As London starts getting back to normal after the restrictions are lifted, I can offer outdoor photography sessions from 1st June. This is because I can safely stay 2 metres away from clients using my long 70-300m lens. This is actually a fabulous lens for outdoor photography as it gives that amazing background bokeh (blur). Read on to find out more about outdoor family photography sessions in London.

Outdoor photography sessions are my favourite sessions for toddlers and active children, as they don’t have to be confined to posing in one place. I love to be able to capture their real smiles and personalities as they run around and play. Kicking a football, climbing trees or playing in the playground (once safe again!). Babies can also be photographed outdoors. I prefer this once they are sitting, as smaller babies will need to lie on a blanket… but it can be done at any age. I don’t generally photograph newborns outside as they are normally naked and it’s too cold! However, if I am not able to do your newborn session inside then I can do a more natural, lifestyle session outside with you and your baby. Family photographs can be posed ones, either standing or sitting on the ground, or of you playing with your kids or throwing them in the air!

“I’d just like to say how pleased I am with the recent experience I had with Shutterbaby. Sara-Jane spent a spring morning with our 14 month old, and his 6 month old cousin in Dulwich Park. She was incredibly patient with both babies, playful and fun to be around with the kids. They both loved her and were captivated by the camera! We are totally chuffed with the results, the shots are so rich in colour & life, and some of the action shots Sara-Jane captured of the kids really made getting the professional pictures worth it – we love them1”

Spring is also a fabulous time to have an outdoor photo session, amongst the flowers. They make such a beautiful backdrop to photos. I can also hold maternity sessions in one of your favourite parks too. My favourite local London parks are Brockwell Park, Dulwich Park, Peckham Rye and Clapham Common…. but I will travel up to an hour to your local park.

Newborns are not something I would normally photograph outdoors but until 4th July this is something I will be looking at. The photos I would create are more lifestyle type images, as obviously I can’t pose your newborn in the same way as I normally would. But I will be able to capture lots of beautiful images of your baby in your arms and the little details shots of hands and feet I would normally get. Family photos won’t be affected as much as I can still get you to pose in a similar way to how I would indoors. I will also be able to bring some props with me if you to want to use any of those.

Below are the safety guidelines I will be following for your family outdoor photography session. The safety of your babies and children is my main priority so I will maintain a safe 2m distance from you and your family at all times.
